How to relief your baby's stuffy nose

Becoming a mum has turned my life around for good, I am now more careful, prayerful and patient.

But no matter how clean and careful you are when caring for your baby, he/she is bound to come down with a cold sooner or later. As interesting as babies can be, they seem to know when it's time to clean up their nose.
Yes! They are uncomfortable, finding it hard to breathe, eat and sleep but they rather resist.
My baby is 4months old and he has had catarrh like twice during this period of his life and it wasn't easy for me to watch him in such discomfort.
So I got nasal drops and a mucous aspirator. I can't remember the exact price though but it wasn't more than NGN1000 and the nasal drops I got for NGN600 pere!

Usually what I do is put 2 drops of the nasal drops in both nostrils and wait for about 30minutes before suctioning the mucous, this helps to loosen up the mucous and makes it easier to suction. I find this method easier and less irritating than using my mouth. The aspirator is easy to clean and durable so you can use it for a long time. My baby would scream the whole time but eventually he calms down and feels more relieved and I am sure he won't remember this experience by the time he is a teenager.

The nasal suction isn't the only way though but it's my preferred method. Here are a few other ways you can relieve your baby's congested nose.
- During bath time : Gently splash some water into your baby's nose to help the mucous drip out on its own.
- Steaming : Sit with your baby for 5 -10 minutes covered up over a hot bowl of water, you can also put a little mentholatum in the water for better results.
- Go outside : Sometimes fresh air can help ease stuffiness.
- Breastmilk : Try squeezing a few drops  of Breastmilk into your baby's nose to ease congestion, some experts say that the milk's antimicrobial properties can help. (Haven't tried this before sha).

I am not an expert in child care, I am  learning everyday so if you know or have tried any other methods please leave a comment below.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

SCAM ALERT: BE WISE

One faithful afternoon, as I sat at work wondering what I would have for lunch, I received a call from a strange number 08128415678 and the caller introduced himself as Engr. Emmanuel Osagie. He asked if I still worked with the organisation I was working for and I affirmed and then he asked about a close colleague. I sincerely thought he was a client because I had given my business cards out a lot so I did not want to rude to a potential client.

He went ahead to say that ever since we exchanged cards I had not kept in touch, strange yea? I thought to myself, I asked him where we had met at he said I had given him my business card some time ago at a function. Okay so I had attended a lot of meetings and functions so I could not really argue with him.

He then said that he now works with NNPC and that he had been transferred to Portharcourt and he had a contract for me.

PRAISEEEE MASTER JESUS!!! I said in my mind, I have gotten another client for the company even if my core function was not marketing.

I became more interested in the conversation, he asked that I call him back in a few minutes so we could discuss at length. I called back but his call was waiting so I hung up. He returned the call after a few minutes stating that he was at a site working as at the time I called and he apologized. He asked that I called back again after sometime that he did not want his colleagues to eavesdrop.

I quickly moved into a small meeting room in my office with my note pad and pen to avoid monitoring spirits from eavesdropping as well. I called back and he went ahead to explain that from time to time they (NNPC) give out small contracts to small scale contractors to provide certain goods and that they had awarded a small contract to one Alhaji but the products here in Lagos are sold at a cheaper rate. Hence, he would like me to help purchase these products and sell to the Alhaji at a more expensive rate.

I was shocked and confused at the same time because I was wondering WHY ME??? I sha played along cos I wanted to hear the end of it. I agreed that I would be able to carry out the task and he said that once I receive payment from the Alhaji that we would share the profit.

SO he said he would send a text with all the details, I said OK and then I hung up awaiting the text message.

As soon as I received the text, I knew there was something wrong and then I called my colleague he had asked about earlier to confirm if she knew him and she said no.

In the text he stated that the name of the product to be purchased is Kroll Petroluem Care and that I should go buy from one Divine Grace Nig. Ltd at Agbara Industrial estate in Lagos and the contact person there is Mr. John Abayomi.

I did my research and gbam!!! SCAMMMM!!! Someone had shared his experience and it was exactly the same, only a few details changed LOL.

People can really be funny, I know I cannot fall for such a scam not because I know so much but because I am a tither and God has promised that he would rebuke the devourer for my sake and I am not greedy for gain.

Please do not be greedy for gain o and be very prayerful. Boys are hustling these days and with so much going on in the country now, them fit hustle reach your side one day.

I hope my story helps someone and I pray the silly guys are caught.

Have you had any scam experience? I would like to hear all about it.

Hope you guys had a fab democracy day? Happy weekend and thanks for reading.

Hugs & Kisses

5 POWERFUL RULES/TIPS FOR FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS

Hello again Beautiful people!

How has your week been? Thank God is Friday yea? I am sure some people have already dusted their dancing shoes for tonight...Small small o, drink responsibly and drive safe biko.

Ok! Today I am going to be serious because today's topic is very serious.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself, at 18years old, a 100level Computer science student of Benson Idahosa University, I started fixing and polishing nails for ladies in my dorm. I didn't know what business was all about then but all I just wanted to do was make some extra money, which I did.
Fast forward to when I was 21years old and I was in my final year ready to graduate and I was nominated for the Best Entrepreneur 2012...I could not believe it when I won.

I worked so hard then that I didnt even know people noticed me or my business. What am I trying to say? I have always loved being an entrepreneur and being independent gives me so much joy. I am always happy to encourage other female entrepreneurs when the need arises.

Please don't ask what happened to the business, that is a story for another day.

I did a little research and I found some rules or tips if you like to call it that I believe are on point and I have decided to share with you guys.

Rule 1: QUIT SEEKING VALIDATION AND EMBRACE YOUR IDEA
If you have a business idea, go for it. Its yours because no one else had the vision you did to start it, stop seeking validation from people before you launch out. Gather mind and start that business no matter how small. Truth is only a few people would actually believe in your idea.

Rule 2: CELEBRATE EVEN THE SMALLEST OF WINS
To maintain a go-getter attitude requires positive reinforcement. Learn to celebrate yourself anytime to achieve a goal even if its a small one. That positive energy will carry you forward.

Rule 3: GET SPECIFIC
Now that you are trusting your own instincts and celebrating along the way, its high time you breakdown your vision into smaller chunks. With the freedom to do what you want during the day comes the increased need to stick to a plan. Write your goals down and place them where you can see them, this would increase your chances of success.

Rule 4: KNOW THAT MAKING MONEY IS LIKE MAKING STEW
When you are cooking stew, you are not afraid of using up the tomato and pepper in your fridge because you know you can always get more abi? Think of money making the same way, if you are committed  to growing your business, you can't be afraid to invest in your growth. Rather than worry about the money you are spending, focus on making each investment worthwhile.

Rule 5: DECIDE TO BE GRATEFUL
No matter how good or bad you have it, there is always someone who has it better or worse than you. I believe that comparison is the root of despair. You have to choose to be grateful for what you have regardless for where you want to be. Like everything worthwhile, being an entrepreneur isn't easy but we should always be grateful for the opportunity to pursue meaningful work and build a life we love.

That is all my friends, Life is short and I urge us to enjoy each day as it comes and be grateful for each day that God has given us.

Thanks for reading

MY PRINTIVO EXPERIENCE

Hello Darlings, how has this month been for you? For me it has been great! And I am looking forward to the weeks ahead.

I am doing a review today, I am sure a lot of you must have heard about Printivo abi?

Okay, for those that do not know them; Printivo is an online print provider, providing its customers with free templates created by designers across Nigeria.
What this means in simple english is that you can just go to their website and design your own complimentary card, banners, invitations etc by yasef and they would print and deliver to you.

Last month, I decided to do some stickers for my smoothie cups (By the way, I am into the smoothie business now hehehe that is gist for later) so like I was saying, I now remembered that Sisi Yemmie had written about them some time ago, so I went to their website.

HOW IT WORKS
Its as simple as ABC, you log on to their website, register with a username and password, upload your design or design yours using any of the template provided, check out and pay. Its that simple.

This is what my sticker looks like...

I also made my complimentary cards with them as well...forgive the picture quality.

Asides the great quality, I like their customer service! They are nice and willing to assist if you get stuck at any point.

I also think their prices are very affordable and the service is convenient because I can decide what I want my design to look like from anywhere I am, I don't have to go sit with one printer and be speaking plenty grammer.

As I said before, they offer delivery service and for me, it was fast and in time. I designed my cards on a wednesday because I needed it for an event on Saturday and by thursday I recieved them...Great yea?

That said, I think they are doing a great job and I would recommend them anytime. I wish they have templates for invoices and receipts tho.

Since then, my calender became tighter, it has been wifey duties..work..saloon..church and more work.
So you see, it is not my fault! But I have made a decision to change that and I am back! Big, Better and Stronger.

Thanks be to God that we are all alive and well and that you can read this blog post and by his grace you would keep reading.
